Kuanta has provided all necessary personnel, materials, equipment and services to design, supply, deliver, install a new drainage system at TH 15 side of Mafia Airport, Tanzania.
The road to the north of the runway bordered the RESA at threshold 15, close to a cliff. The old discharge across the road was washed away in April 2014 during a high intensity rain. The slope failure was 15-20 m wide and a portion of the road was lost. The scope of this mandate is as follows:
· Diverting of site drainage to the beach with two new drainage routes A and B,
· Permanent closing of existing culverts crossing the road,
· Installation of 1,2m diameter concrete culverts including cut-off walls and supporting concrete slab,
· Installation of 1.2m concrete and glass fiber pipes along the new routes,
· Construction of new manholes,
· Construction of outfall structures at the discharge locations on the beach,
· Slope stabilization along the new drainage line,
· Road reinstatement.
Within the scope of the project, below construction works have been executed by Kuanta machinery and personnel.
Supply all necessary equipment, material and personnel to:
- Excavation of trench at varying depths of 5040 cubic meters,
- Backfilling and compaction of 4334 cubic meters original ground,
- Construct 218 linear meters of security fencing,
- Site clearance of 1008 cubic meters,
- 336 linear meters of 1200mm diameter concrete pipe laying,
- 117 linear meters of 1200mm diameter Fiber Reinforced Pipe laying,
- 1278 linear meters of water proofing around pipes,
- 1052 square meters of erosion control with geogrid and geotextile,
- 1442 square meters of erosion control with vegetation,
- 3694 cubic meters of excavation for manhole and stilling basin construction,
- 1601 square meters of formwork for manhole and stilling basin construction,
- 193 cubic meter of plum in concrete
- Construction of 13 ea. manholes
