SMART, the Systematic Modernization of Air Traffic Management, is a program initiated by the Turkish State Airports Authority to establish centralized air traffic management across several airports in Turkey. The program involved installing the latest technology to allow for flexibility and expansion. 

As a prime contractor for this project, Kuanta provided design, procurement, upgrade and installation services for the Voice Communication System (VCS) and SMART operator positions, including all related infrastructure and utilities, at Esenboga Airport in Ankara and Ataturk Airport in Istanbul, Turkey.

This project required Kuanta to integrate several different new and existing air traffic management systems. Kuanta accomplished this and installed 16 operator positions in Istanbul and 32 positions in Ankara.

Currently, SMART is fully operational and being used to control all air traffic in Turkey.
